A good basis for familiarising yourself with diamonds is by learning about the four C's. These are Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat Weight. We have included a brief synopsis of each of the C's in this section.
One important fact to remember is that while the four C's are a useful tool diamonds are not manufactured on an assembly line. Each diamond is different to the next because no two diamonds come out of the earth the same.
Evaluating a diamond solely using the four C's is like determining the beauty of a painting by it's canvas and paint. Remember that you are buying a diamond, not a piece of paper. A certificate does not tell you what is beautiful, your eye should.
This is why Brereton Jewellers, with over 100 years of experience selecting diamonds, have diamonds that are both bright and beautiful.
