Jade Nephrite is a second type of Jade.  Like Jadeite, it is a versatile gem and it comes in a range of different colours from green, yellow, black, white, to grey. The difference between the two Jades is that Nephrite can be more muted.   Green Nephrite is discernible from Jadiete because of it's darkish green colour with spots of black.

Jade Nephrite, like Jadeite, was also used for medicinal purposes and the Chinese believed it brought them clarity and peace of mind.
